Help for Victims of Violence during COVID-19
The Domestic Abuse Service Center (DASC) offers assistance to victims facing abuse. They play a large role in assisting victims in the Hennepin County area with filing for Orders for Protection. In response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), all services available at the Domestic Abuse Service Center will be provided remotely to maintain the safety and well-being of Hennepin County community members and staff.
Here is what you need to know:
- Access to the Center is closed, but clients can call the front desk at 612-348-5073 to be connected with an advocate via phone.
- If clients do not have access to a phone and/or a safe place, they can utilize a conference room on the A Level of the Government Center ( A0710) . The room will have tables with a phone to contact an advocate to submit a Petition for an OFP, safety plan, locate shelter, referrals, etc.. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Deputy will be in the room to ensure the safety of our clients.
- Petitioners can always use Guide and File if they have access to a computer and a safe place.
This continues to be a flexible situation so other changes may arise. For continued updates, please check the websites above frequently.
